All areas of your child’s development is guided and supported by a child focused weekly program. Our teachers deliver an interest based program, by linking children’s interests with a teacher directed curriculum. This allows us to provide a specifically tailored program which meets children’s individual learning needs.

Information is gathered through observations to better understand the needs and interests of each child so as to develop a program appropriate to each child and the setting.

At Jane’s Place we offer an inclusive program, which supports families’ home and cultural practices, and recognizes and respects individual faiths and needs. We also invite parents to participate in our program - to share skills, interests, and knowledge, and to actively participate in the development of their child.

Children have a representative symbol which allows you to see what has been programmed in support of their interests and needs. This provides you with an open form of communication between you and your child’s teachers, something which is of paramount importance in our relationships with you and your child.

Each day your child attends Jane’s Place their journeys and exploration of their interests are documented through written observations, photographs and videos. These enable the teachers to create the Daily stories which is provided for you to read about or view significant activities, development or journeys that have occurred during their day.

These Daily stories are compiled into your child’s Individual Portfolio; this is where the teachers create your child’s monthly journey with us here at Jane’s Place. It is filled with memories, friendships developed, interests and the many joys that are experienced every day.
