A space for women to thrive...

About

Hi, my name is Jane Chambers. I am a woman, a mother,  a sister, an aunt, a dog sitter, a rose grower, a Christian, an avoider of house work and a Psychologist.  I have been a book binder, a nurse, a disability worker, a cross stitcher and an avid reader of regency romance to name a few.

As women we can get so busy with the roles and responsibilities in our life that we leave no space for ourselves. We identify as a list of titles that relate to how other people see us and what we do. Our true, authentic self is often consumed by life's pressures and others expectations.

Jane's Place has been created to offer a space that gives you the opportunity to carve out time for yourself.  A space to acknowledge, explore and address those parts of your life that resulted in pain. A space to learn to love all the parts of yourself that got lost along life's journey. A time to reconnect with who you are, and a foundation to step forward into growth.

I have an interest in working with women across all aspects of their life, particularly women who are going through transitions in  personal, relationship, health or professional settings.

As a practicing Christian I value working with women who want to integrate their Christian faith and experiences into their healing and growth journey. I am also experienced working with women who hold roles in the church setting and those who identify as being traumatised by a religious environment and who wish to move towards recovery.

As a Psychologist with nearly 20 years expertise and experience working in the mental health, health, disability, occupational rehabilitation and employee wellness sectors I have a diverse skill set. Since completing my psychology degree in 2005 I have completed further training in the following therapeutic approaches:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
